Back Deck + Door Update

If you follow me on Instagram (@ashleyelladesign) you might have seen a few of these insta-updates below. A couple weekends ago my husband and I made a fabulous decision to paint our little back deck with DeckOver. What a difference it has made! I love the texture and the color. Even though I love the slate gray, my only regret is not thinking about how all those little dirty puppy paws would show all the time. Turns out, it's nothing a hose can't wash right off.
And if you know me, I can't just stop at one project. I have to go until I feel like the entire thing is complete. So, I made my to-do list for the following weekend. I grabbed some Starbucks and headed for Home Depot sans husband so I could agonize over paint colors in my own little mind. I finally decided on Behr Jamaica Bay. The French Silver swatch below was what I ended up using for the inside of the door. Loved how it turned out equally as much!
Here is the before photo. Good ol' factory white. Bland and boring.
We taped that sucker up inside and out. Which took longer than actually painting the door itself. All those windows were a real paint in the rear but completely worth it in the end.

And here's the after! Man, I just love it. We had some friends and family over that evening for a good ol' fashion Labor Day BBQ and I received tons of compliments. I'm pretty smitten with the final product.

We have so much more to do on our back deck area but these few little painting projects have made a big big difference so far. We are throwing a BaBy Q for my sister-in-law in a couple weekends so I will be sure to share more soon.
xoxo
